Fly Creek Area Historical Society Committees

Committees are a vital part of our organization.  Per the FCAHS By-laws, we have eight dedicated standing committees:

  1. Archives Committee: responsible for collecting, cataloging, caring for, arranging, and repairing books, manuscripts, newspapers, artifacts, relics, and other historical material.  Chair: Deecy Haviland.
  2. Publications Committee: responsible for finding ways and means for establishing joint or individual research studies, and for providing newsletters to members.  Chair: Bill Deane.
  3. Program Committee: responsible for arranging suitable programs.  Chairs: Kathy Snyder & Layne Weir.
  4. Membership Committee: responsible for attraction and retention of members.  Chair: Sharon Kroker.
  5. Building & Grounds Committee: responsible for general maintenance and any improvements to the Headquarters Building and its grounds.  Chair: Greg Crowell.
  6. Research Committee: responsible for the coordination and guidance of genealogy and other research.  Chair: Deecy Haviland.
  7. Finance Committee: responsible for oversight of all fund-raising activities of the Society, whether by sponsored events or solicitation; for review of potential outside funding sources of gifts or grants; and for assistance to the Treasurer in preparation of an annual operating budget.  Chair: Vacant.
  8. Activities Committee: responsible for planning, preparation, and conducting of events whose basic purpose is to provide entertainment and cultural enrichment for the Society and the community.  Chair: Tony Kroker.

In addition, we have two special committees: the Refreshments Committee, currently chaired by Jim Yourno; and the Technology Committee, currently handled by Sharon Kroker.

Assistance for these groups is welcome and needed.  If you are interested in chairing or joining any of these committees, please contact us.  Thank you!
